It is located at 135 West San Carlos Street, San Jose, California 95113, adjacent to the San Jose Tech Museum.
Show Program: We use a no wait line system for the event. Lastly, we have some basic rules for the audience here.
We rotate our games every 30-45 minutes, so there are always plenty of chances to apply. All contestants on stage are awarded prizes, from plushies to DVDs to gift cards.
Winners can advance to our jackpot rounds to win up to $500 in cash.
This application is intended to provide you an opportunity to express your interest in performing at the Fanime Con 2017 Dance.
In 2016 we received the criticism that we had too much Big Room House, Trap, and Hardcore. In 2017, while we might pay special attention to an application that is not one of these genres, we expect DJs to apply with their best genre and one that they can give their best performance with regardless of set length.
Join us at our new location – the San Jose Ballroom in the Marriott Hotel on Sunday, May 28th at 6 p.m. The Black & White Ball staff will be offering group dance lessons every day leading up to the ball. The Cosplay Gatherings Department is in charge of officially sanctioning and assisting gatherings. This is where cosplayers can come cool off and fix their cosplays in a press free zone.
for great music, beautiful photographs, and (of course) hours of dancing! Private lessons will also be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, so sign up early during the con! To find more information about Gatherings happening at Fanime Con, please visit the forums or visit the Facebook page.
Our games cover hundreds of different topics, such as Sailor Moon, Star Wars, Sword Art Online, General Knowledge, TV, anime, Disney, old anime, new anime, video games, science fiction, Adult Swim, random topics, and so much more!
Even if you don’t know everything about everything, we always encourage people to try.
If you are looking to compete or participate in the show, the forms are available HERE. This year the DJ application period will be open from NOW until December 31, 2016. In recent years we had lots of performers (44 in 2015 and 38 in 2016).
Any applications received on or after January 1, 2017 will not be considered. In 2017 we will be selecting fewer DJs and possibly giving more time to those selected.
The current list of prizes include gift cards for the top entry in each category as voted by the audience and the judges. Some of our games test strict trivia knowledge, while others require contestants to think on their feet.
